Cotton and Garment Manufacturing Plants
Many farmers grew cotton locally and you will see a cotton poison spreader and several items from the Red Bay Ice and Gin company owned by E. Gober. These include the scales and the table used to grade cotton. The Red Bay Garment Company was established by Jennie Brown and made Jennie Brown pinafores. The company was later bought by Blue Bell and then Wrangler. The chairs shown here were used by the women working in the plant. Mannequins from Lance Garment Company were used to make patterns for shirts made by the company.
